Often the beginning of a year gets me all bushy tailed but this time its all a bit unsure.
To counterbalance that I have selected this exuberant image to set the tone of a whole line of exciting shows and events I will participate in.
Firstly, on the 25th of January, starting at 6.30pm, bo-lee galery will stage an artists Talk/Show closing event with several participating artists from their As the Crow Flies exhibition. The show itself will be on till the 2nd of February.
Meanwhile, down south, Arundel Contemporary will start their new season with a show of Works on Paper where I will be showing a few larger prints.
Over to the continent where with Körpergefühl – De Queeste Art aims to make us forget all our angsts with a strong collection of artists whose work celebrates the body in all its exuberance and vigour. If that will not disperse our winter blues I don’t know what will!
In April I will show my complete portfolio of The Crying Game Prints in an exhibition titled Iconoclash, a contemporary take on an Iconoclastic Fury at De Queeste Art, the first time this portfolio will be shown on the continent.
On the 7th of April at 11am I will give a talk on the why’s of the need for present day Iconoclashes.
You are most welcome to participate in this event.
Look forward to catch up with you again, Marcelle Hanselaar
