This Choir of Angels

in front of Velázquez’s ‘The Immaculate Conception’
Nicholas Williams is a British painter and draughtsman whose works examine aspects of human behaviour, conveyed through symbolism and direct observational painting.
Solo shows include the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, Bournemouth; Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro and Liverpool Cathedral for the European Capital of Culture. In 2001 he was awarded the Hunting Art Prize and in 2008 shortlisted for the Threadneedle Art Prize. Public collections include Bournemouth Central Library, Falmouth Art Gallery, Frissiras Museum in Athens and the British Museum.
